The Century Lofts are authentic factory conversions with mushroom columns, large industrial windows and original Terrazzo floors. Originally the Imperial Optical Lens Factory, this stunning 1940’s Art Deco building houses 39 units.

Part of the reason these lofts are so affordable is because they are located in the south end of Cabbagetown, at 365 Dundas Street East. Historically, this area of Toronto was known for as a transitional community with a high concentration of public low income housing.

However, in recent years the city government has been rebuilding and restoring the area to better reflect adjacent neighbourhoods like Corktown and Riverdale. In fact, the award-winning firm Architects Alliance was chosen to build one of the complex’s new apartment buildings.

Because the Century Lofts is in an up and coming area, it’s a great investment opportunity for buyers. The property value will appreciate in as little as 5 years because 365 Dundas Street East is in a “ripple effect zone”. Ripple effect zones are areas that are close to well-established communities and therefore reap the benefits of high property value as the city inevitable expands. It won’t be long before Century Lofts graduates from my list of most affordable lofts!
