The Academy Lane Lofts is one of the only authentic hard lofts in the Beaches, on Queen Street East. Originally an early 20th century Armory, the building was more recently used as a bowling alley for Academy Lane Bowling. In 2003, Streetcar Developments converted the historic 2-storey structure into a residence. Two additional storeys were built on top of the bowling alley to create 12 open concept loft units.
Located at 1872 Queen Street East, just west of Woodbine Avenue, The Academy Lane Lofts are in the heart of Toronto’s well-established Beaches neighbourhood. In the summertime, this is the city’s top destination for sunbathing or strolling the boardwalk. From The Academy Land Lofts, residents are only moments away from Kew Gardens, Ashbridge’s Bay Park and Woodbine Park.
This neighbourhood is also full of trendy local restaurants, cafes, boutiques, fitness studios and salons. Some popular storefronts in the immediate area on Queen Street East include Sauvignon Bistro, Bikram Yoga, The Beach Cinemas and Tulip Restaurant. Transportation is extremely accessible from the Beaches via the Queen streetcar or the nearby Lakeshore Boulevard.
Units in The Academy Land Lofts range between 863 and 1701 sq. ft. It’s worth checking out your options because some are single level, some are multi-level and some have balconies or terraces. Every unit, however, is beautifully designed with exposed wood beams, large windows, gourmet kitchens and granite countertops. The building also has an innovative stacked parking system for your car.
