At the corner of King Street and Bathurst, the Westside Lofts is a unique alternative to other buildings in this popular King West neighbourhood. It was converted from office spaces to open concept residences by Urban Corp in the late 1980’s. Some of the features in Westside Lofts include 11” ceilings, wide hallways, sliding wooden doors, large windows and big closets.
The building, located at 700 King Street West, was designed by Young & Wright Architects. A world renowned firm, Young & Wright is also responsible for Toronto landmarks such as One City Hall and Vu Living. With Westside Lofts, they’ve successfully renovated the preexisting building into modern loft homes.
I’ve chosen the Westside Lofts for SelectCondos.ca because it’s a building with a lot of character in a part of Toronto that’s known for its style. In recent years, King West has established itself as the neighbourhood for trendy and upscale restaurants, lounges, cafes and boutiques. Literally seconds from 700 King Street West, you will find Blowfish Restaurant & Saki Bar, Dolce Social Ballroom and Wheat Sheaf Tavern, the city’s oldest pub.
This area is also extremely accessible via the TTC—just beyond your doorstep, you will find streetcar stops on both King and Bathurst. For drivers, the Westside Lofts offers underground parking. Other amenities in the building include a 24-hour concierge, a party room, a gym and a rooftop terrace.
