The Camden Lofts is a surprisingly intimate building in Toronto’s most bustling downtown neighbourhood. Located at 29 Camden Street, one block southwest of Richmond and Spadina, this is an area everyone flocks to for entertainment—from theatres to nightclubs. Some of the great spots nearby include The Princess of Wales Theatre, The Rivoli and This Is London. If you love living in the thick of it all, this residence should be at the top of your list.

It’s at the top of my list because along with a thriving urban environment, Camden Lofts offers cutting-edge design from Core Architects. Although this building isn’t an authentic conversion, it features all of the industrial-style finishes you’d find in a hard loft.

There are 60 suites in total and they each have 10” exposed concrete ceilings, suspended spiral ducts and striking light fixtures. Even the exterior mimics an industrial aesthetic with red brick and square pane windows.

The ground floor of Camden Lofts houses commercial spaces and the remaining 7 storeys are full of lofts. Some of the lofts have balconies and the penthouse units are 2-storeys. Like most loft buildings, Camden Lofts doesn’t much in the way of amenities, which results in low maintenance fees. The building does, however, include a security system, lockers and a party room with an outdoor patio.

Undoubtedly, Core Architects know what they’re doing when it comes to designing lofts. The firm has a prolific portfolio that consists of Zen Lofts, Chelsea Lofts and the Fashion District Lofts—just to name a few. Along with Cecconi Simone, a renowned interior designer, they’ve created a beautiful home at an address that puts the best of Toronto right on your front steps.
